Frequently Asked Questions

First of all, welcome to your new favourite hobby!
I’ve designed most of the patterns you’ll find here for both beginners and experienced stitchers. I like to include a nice variety of embroidery stitches, and I explain everything with photos, diagrams and detailed instructions. Every pattern also covers helpful tips for when you’re just starting out – like how to work with your materials and tools, and ideas for displaying your finished pieces.
I tend to stick to beginner-friendly stitches, but a few of my patterns include a couple of intermediate stitches. You might find those patterns more enjoyable once you’ve got a couple of other embroidery projects under your belt. Refer to the information under ‘Level’ in individual pattern listings for more info.
If you’d like to see if embroidery is for you before buying a pattern, grab my free beginner pattern here. You’ll get to grips with the basics while making something beautiful, and I’ve a feeling you’ll fall in love with this craft as much as I have!
If you’d like to know more about what any of my patterns involve, drop me a message – I’ll be happy to guide you.

All my patterns are available as instant download PDFs. Once your payment has gone through, you’ll be able to download your pattern from the Order Confirmation page. You’ll also receive an email with a link to your file.
Once you’ve downloaded your pattern, you can print it from your home computer or view it from your laptop, tablet, or phone.

The best pattern transfer method to use will depend on the project and the material you’re using.
All my patterns include step-by-step instructions with photos for the most suitable transfer method for the project – and some patterns include an alternative method, so you can choose. Whichever pattern you’re following, the recommended transfer method will only include supplies that are readily available online and in craft stores worldwide.
If you’d like any pointers about pattern transfer for a specific project, please drop me a line – I’ll be happy to help.

All my projects use DMC stranded cotton (sometimes called floss), which is available online and in craft stores worldwide. I include DMC’s colour codes in all my patterns, so you can match the colours exactly if you want to (but feel free to switch things up!).
All my felt ornament patterns are made using wool or wool-blend felt – it’s dreamy stuff to work with and will stand the test of time. The felt ornament patterns come with a supplementary PDF with links to the colours of wool felt I suggest you use, from my favourite suppliers in the UK the US.
As for the fabric used in my hoop art patterns, this varies by project. Every pattern includes information about the specific fabric I’ve used, and tips for sourcing something similar (as well as what to bear in mind if you want to use a different material). I tend to use linen or a cotton-linen mix that I’ve sourced in the UK – if you’d like me to recommend a supplier, please drop me a line.

My patterns are available to buy all over the world! If you’re shopping outside the UK, you might prefer to buy via my Etsy shop, where prices will display in your local currency.

I’m only selling PDF patterns for now, as that’s the easiest way to share my love of embroidery with the world. But I am working on selling kits in the future... Be sure to sign up to my mailing list so you can be first in line when they drop!

I don’t sell the finished pieces I’m afraid. I test-stitch each one myself, and then I need to hold on to them so I can market them. I also can’t bear to part with them! I highly recommend giving embroidery a go yourself, and you’ll see what I mean. But if that’s not your thing, you could always buy the pattern and find someone else to stitch it for you.

Once you’ve bought a pattern from me, you’re free to make as many pieces as you’d like to – but for personal use only. That means you can keep them for yourself, or gift them to friends, family, or anyone you like – but you’re not free to sell them.
That’s because my patterns are copyright protected, which means by law, you mustn’t reproduce, redistribute or sell these patterns or your finished pieces. Thank you for your understanding.
